Kalmar Nyckel

​

A yearly Provincetown tradition is to host historic tall ships or schooners.  Shown in all her glory in this painting is the Kalmar Nyckel, a “dutch Pinnace,” a class of gun-armed merchant ship that could also serve as a naval vessel.  Her image was taken from another tall ship, the Hindu, who summers in Provincetown.
